Things we did in June and July

When we went to Mexico to see Johnny and Joanie get married, Kasey graciously agreed to watch Tanner.

OF course, who could resist the camera ops?

When we got back home, our friends, Lara and Nate came to visit. We had a great time running around getting dirty. It was fun getting clean too.

We had fun at the aquarium, but not in the otter hut!

We can't wait to play again!

10 months and a couple of weeks

I'd like to formally apologize for my tardiness. Life has been very busy lately. Tanner has been very busy lately. Which made me very busy lately. Then we had family vacations. And there's nothing like a good family shaming to get one's "rear in gear"

Have I ever mentioned that Tanner is a little obsessed with balls? He will dig through the toy baskets looking for them. And like any good Tietjen, he is particularly fond of his soccer ball. I'm sure one of them will show you how to really use it one day :)

The flash on my camera is a bit much. Maybe a Nikkon would take better pictures... (Greg, that was a hint)

And he likes to try to copy what you say. We were saying "cheese". Apparently I held the vowel a little long.

The joys of eating with Daddy. Sometimes I wonder how much actually goes in.

Tanner at 7 months and a couple of weeks

Are you sure this isn't the way to work a pacifier?

And a big thanks to our friend Piper Shearer for the AWESOME sock monkey hat! It fits Tanner's head so nicely :) And kept it very warm on our walk.

Off Like a Dirty Shirt!

Like a true Tietjen, the child cannot sit still. Tanner's good friend Piper Shearer gave us a scooter car (a walker that looks more like a little car). It's been true love ever since! He zooms all over the house in his little car, laughing and squealing the whole time.

Later 'gator!

I'm starving Momma!!

After our 4 month check up (and round of shots :( ) The doctor told us that developmentally Tanner is functioning like a 5 or 6 month old (what a genious! Hahaha) and that he could start trying rice cereal and then veggies and fruits. At a whopping 16 lbs 8 oz, I'm thinking this not-so-little guy is hungry. Of course the boy was born hungry and we've been trying to keep up ever since. Our first try with the rice cereal was comical to say the least. You would think I was trying to force feed him green eggs and ham or something! Rice cereal was EVERYWHERE. All over him, the counter, the seat, me, even the cat got caught in the crossfire. Maurice will think twice before coming around during feeding time!

I don't know about this. Are you sure this is safe?

Well, maybe I might like it.

Alright, just one more bite.

I DO like it Sam I Am!

I would eat them in a box, I would eat them with a fox! I would eat them here and there. I would eat them ANYWHERE!

It's going to take us longer to clean up than it did for me to eat this!

Round 2 went a little better. I found the space saver high chair (thanks Carrie) and sat him up a little straighter.

I'm ready Momma, are you?

Not so much, big guy... could you slow it down a little for me? ;)
