The sound of progress

For the past week we have been waking up to the sounds of hammers, nail guns and saws. A beautiful symphony serenading us at 7:00 in the morning. Every day I hear the "music" I know we are one day closer to not being homeless. Yesterday, the boys hung out together and I got a chance to check out the construction site first hand.

The addition's first floor has been framed,

They have done the prep work for the driveway, digging it in,

They have even started ripping off all of the siding!

More to follow!

Set Down and Filled In

Just because I haven't had a spare chance to post, doesn't mean the work hasn't been happening! The house has been set down, the steel has been removed and some of the great piles of sand have been pushed back into that gaping hole.

The shed was drug across the field to our neighbor's house (by Greg in his Jeep!)

Where it used to sit

It's new home at the neighbors

Now we are officially a real construction work site. Delux blue bathroom and all

The wood is here to build the first floor deck... the supervisor is keeping it neat and protecting it from the elements.

The infant carrier sure does come in handy when checking out the progress.

But consciousness doesn't last long!

More to come :)

Getting closer!

The construction site has been very busy this past week. The basement has walls, at least around the outside of it. The concrete job was successful and the forms were removed, then waterproofed.

Greg made us several escape routes.

There will be windows too

The trees had to be moved, but then the sand will be spread out and the hole filled in...

What a Wild and Wooly Week!

We are home from the hospital and I am adjusting to my new surroundings. I can't believe it's been a week already. Time really does fly when you're having fun!

The grandmothers agree

I've been relaxing with Daddy

The nanny/body guard watches my every move

But no more flash photography Momma, you're starting to act like the paparazzi!

Almost Ready to Pour

With all of the excitement this past week, I haven't had a chance to walk over to the construction site to document. But The Supervisor took the camera to show me what has been happening. Our forms for the walls of the basement have been built and are waiting to be filled with concrete... damn weather delays!

This is the view from the basement "floor"

It's not every day that you get to look up the skirt of your own house!
